Flume Brook in Dixville Notch State Park
Flume Brook in Dixville Notch State Park

Since the last post we moved from St. Albans, VT to New Hampshire – first to Colebrook and now to Franconia. We’re here to see fall foliage – if the rain stops – on the renowned Kancamagus Highway.

I shot the image above in Dixville Notch State Park. Some of you might be familiar with the name. Dixville Notch is famous for being the first town to vote in presidential elections.

Sharp-eyed readers may notice the images below are much smaller than usual. The reason is that internet access in rural VT and NH is painfully slow. You can see full-size images here.

The hunt for fall foliage continues…

We’re in Burlington, VT – near Lake Champlain – and will be for the next week or so while we wait for Fall to catch up with us.  It’s late this year.

Still, there are patches of color here and there (click photos for a larger view)…

We began our New England trip by staying with a friend in Woburn, MA that we hadn’t seen for 21 years. See showed us the Revolutionary War sights in Lexington and Concord, and took us to a fundraiser at a farm where she volunteers. (Thank you, Jane!)

A few Massachusetts photos…
